With an open-wall and floor design, Root Air Pruning Pots provide excellent oxygen flow to the growing medium. As root tips reach the cusps of the pot's walls, they lose their apical dominance, causing more roots to grow back inside the medium, enhancing overall root health.
This air pruning process accelerates as the medium becomes colonized with fresh roots, filling the pore spaces and leading to balanced growth between the plant’s roots and canopy. Trees grown in these pots show slowed head growth once the root system fills the container, creating a stable, healthy plant.
